Diverse Futures in Agriculture

The Farm Loan Board is committed to expanding access to capital and supporting the growth of farms and agri-businesses across Nova Scotia. We have designed options to support individuals and businesses from diverse backgrounds and communities by helping to reduce financial barriers that can limit access to traditional financing.

By providing flexible lending options, we support new and existing participants seeking to establish, grow, or transition businesses in agriculture, while contributing to a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economy.

Types of Loans

Farm/Agri-Business Development – purchase, expansion and/or modernization of farms and agri-businesses owned and operated by equity-deserving groups.
Inclusive Community Projects – agricultural initiatives that directly benefit communities belonging to equity-deserving groups.
